Welcome
Message
Dear
Fellow Aligs, Friends and Well Wishers:
On Behalf of AMU Alumni Association Canada, we welcome you all to
the newly improved website.
OUR
HISTORY
The AMU Alumni Association of
Canada was formed in October 26, 1991 and is a secular,
non-political, non-profit, charitable, educational, social and
cultural organization of the alumni and well-wishers of AMU.
We have been into existence for a span of eighteen years. From the
beginning the objective was to spread the mission of Sir Syed Ahmad
Khan - to dospel ignorance, accept modern education, and above all,
develop human fraternity irrespective of cast and creed. On this
important day let us as Aligarians, resolve to spread the message
of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan all over the world.
We were able to successfully release funds for 23 scholarships of
Rs 2000 each in the year 1996-97 in addition to the individual
commitment offered by Dr. Rafi Mustafa for a special scholarship.
In October 1996 we joined the information revolution by getting on
the Internet by launching a website.
WHAT
CAN WE DO TOGETHER ??
But
nothing can be achieved without your continued patronage, help and
commitment. Please become a member and support the Association in
any way you can. From becoming a mentor to a bright student to
paying tuition or providing support to a deserving library or
school projects, the possibilities are limitless. Membership in our
Association is open to everyone irrespective of race, religion,
creed or color and to all those who believe in the aims and
objectives of the Association.
The Association is also thinking to develop scholarship and
mentorship programs that provide assistance, financial and
otherwise, to the meritorious, but less fortunate, challenged &
weaker sections of society in India for their education. Either
alone or partnering with local organizations, the Association will
also be organizing Blood Donation Drives, First Aid or CPR
Trainings, Homeless Shelter Volunteer partnerships, Free Medical
Camps, etc.
Your opinions and suggestions are valuable and always welcome. Keep
them coming. We at AMU Alumni Association of Canada would love to
see you at ALL our events and programs. Stay Well, Live Long,
Prosper and commit to a Noble Cause.
